Sinking long ugly nails in our Lord
Through His flesh

The rhythm of His heart
As it grows ever fainter, faint, gone
To save

The sound of Christ’s feat
As he steps forth from His tomb
He arose
He lives again

Step into the world
Preach the gospel, share the good news
A call to serve
Christ died for life

The sound of our feat
As we run around fulfilling life’s endless tasks
No time
So busy

We run to and fro
Our days filled with pointless scrambling

The sounds in our ear
As we drown the world out with our music
Too loud
Can’t hear

Turn the music up
As we ignore the cries around us
Too soft

Stop. We have a purpose!
I like this one a lot. Similar in some ways to The Music of the Cross- the focus on the sound- and the suffering of Christ on the cross, and also to this one http://rosythorns.blogspot.com/2011/02/heaven-heartbeat.html in it's theme. But still distinct and unique, as well as very well written and convicting. Thanks for posting.
